Central Virginia Gold Prospectors was formed to promote the hobby of recreational gold prospecting as well as educating others about the history and methods of gold in Virginia.

The best way to join is to attend one of our monthly meetings. You can find the time and location at the top of the home page. If you can not attend a meeting, you can mail your application along with your dues payment to Jennifer Brosnan. You can find her address just above this section on the homepage, and she can be reached at treasurer@cvgp.net .
Dues for membership are currently $120 and covers your household from February to February calendar year.
Yes, any gold you find while prospecting the claims is yours to keep.
Your membership gives you access to the gold bearing properties that CVGP leases. There are currently 7 properties.
As a member, you are required to be a responsible steward of the land. You should familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations provided to you, as well as our club bylaws in your membership packet. When possible, participate in meetings as well as property clean up/maintenance days. We also need volunteers for events put on by CVGP throughout the year.
CVGP operates in the County of Buckingham in Virginia.
